new year.

yo. plenty of happenings. get set and go~

dec31st
sean's house! And this time jeff finally made an appearance!!! Accompanied by tzehock with a yougurt cake no less (gd stuff). I turned up with a more modest mini orange cheesecakes which i baked with my cousin the day before, and sean being the wonderful guy he is, made strawberry icecream! as we waited for countdown, i decided to be funny and brought along ouran high school host club anime dvds (thanks tzehock) - injecting humour into the new year. and it worked! currently my dvds are in sean's possession as we only managed to chiong through 7 episodes before realizing that it was already 2am, jan 1st. so not only did we welcome the new year with loads of laughs (mostly from the weird eng subtitles from the dvd), we embraced the new hike in taxi fares when the 3 of us shared the cab back home (the trip from sembawang to yishun -jeff's hse- was an alarming $10) and i have yet to ask tze hock on the total fare (he lives 2 bus stops away from me). =p and when i reached home, i received a BIG Amazon package, containing an equally BIG BOOK OF DISNEY HISTORY!!!!! Along with a simple greeting card attached, wishing me a belated, but lovely christmas, from tze hock!!!!! (okay, i didnt noticed the package cause the hse was dark, but he suddenly smsed me informing me to check for my parcel. so i flew downstairs and opened it) YAY THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!! (yeah i already said that, but just to show how much i appreciate it i am gonna just say it again!) oh yeah, i do not throw away greeting cards, no matter how small or sticky they are, so i stuck his greeting card inside the book cover. lovely reminder~=) oh.

jan1st
Heh! First thing i did after waking up (afternoon) was to paint an early illustration i inked in 2007. And it was a good start of the year: I am gonna go back to school~~~ an art school no less. So i am pretty enthusiastic about getting my portfolio together. I felt pretty light-headed and strangely, free. it was a good feeling for the new year nonetheless. But i didnt finish the painting in one sitting - i got tired and my eyes were strained, so i went out in the evening to kino to get my pre-ordered present for tzehock!!! Yep. it is currently still unwrapped and laying on top of my study table in its festive red kino bag... i shall pass it to you soon (you are like a mere 2 stops away) so be prepared!!! Then i got home just in time for our family's NEW YEAR DINNER prepared by mummy~ Here was our lovely spread:
Appetizer
prawn and scallop cocktail in wasabi mayo
Soup
vegetable soup
Main Course
stuffed chicked with roast potatoes and string beans
Dessert
tiramisu and chocolate fondue
mummy wanted it to be a romantic affair, so she suggested turning off the lights and lighting up tealights instead. but we only had 4 tealights, so when we switched off the dining lights, there were only 4 measly spots of flame..and a really dark table. I had to hold the tealight really close to my appetizer in order to determine what was i having. so we abandoned that theme and settled down to a nice warm new year dinner. cheers. oh, and after dinner, i finished my painting.
fastforward to jan4th
Did talent identification at acs (since jan3rd) with ginway (he's on summer vacation). then had dinner with him at suntec. but hey, it wasnt the dinner which made it blog-worthy. it was his shopping spree which made it memorable. he needed to get a formal attire, so i was nice and accompanied him at suntec city, then to marina square. both to g2000 shops... haha. he was pretty fussy for a guy, but it made the whole shopping experience with him very amusing for me. and we hike to quite a few places for cufflinks. i insisted that he should get mini stethoscope-shaped cufflinks (he's a med stud) and was promptly ignored by him, only to have me in giggling fits. and when he thought the final cufflinks i selected looked pretty good, he got shot down by the sales assisstant, who told him that it cost XXX (I started laughing) and that i have good taste. he ignored me again. i believed that i wasnt very helpful (i merely laughed at his rantings and gave random jibes about his clothes), but he told me that i was a good companion to shop with cause he never shopped so fast in his life. it was all fun in a day's work. yep, and i promised him that next time, it will be my turn to shop, so he can get all the laughter.
yay. tomorrow will be a good day too.
