fresh from hokkaido.

back and i have decided to do something about this poor blog of mine.

hokkaido was fantastic~ even with the tight schedule organised by the tour group, i feel alot more at peace that in singapore with nothing to do. hokkaido was "do nothing and relax" kinda peace, spore its the "hmm do i have anything to do" kinda peace, those that distrupts. so yep i had a really nice time over there. far far away~ and best part, no h1n1 over at hokkaido, unlike osaka. mask free and hello fresh air!

the tour guide was right. if you get a hokkaido kid and drop him in tokyo, he will get freak out by the pace of city life. If you get a tokyo kid and drop him in hokkaido - that guy woudlnt even wanna go back tokyo anymore. there's just the right balance of technology (everything's in the cell phone and that's all you need.) and nature (alot more actually). i can imagine sitting on the green meadows sketching. course you cant just plonk yourself onto any meadow, you can ask nicely and people will be more than willing to let you roll on their fields. but worse come, there's always the wildflowers in all sorts of colours. i only see mimosa (pink) and tiny tiny white daisy-ish kinda wildflowers in spore. oh no i am comparing~

foodwise, hands down to japan for being so creative with their food - they can make health food appear alot more appetising than it sounds. and taste did not disappoint period. but hokkaido is famous for milk/cheese/icecream anything creamy. i had the most wonderful cream puff with 2 kinds of cream inside (photos are in facebk) which will win beard papa anytime (in the first place beard papa's from japan), red tea chocolate dishes out as free dainty samples by a smartly dressed guy, cheese mochi a combination of sweet and light salt, lavendar ice cream alone that will make me wanna go back hokkaido again, and...seafood. i see live sea urchin shuckled out and served, i taste sea salt on my sashimi. and the crab oh the crab~~

and the fashion. goodness if singapore was anything like japan it will be the time i swear i am dreaming. uniforms alone are fascinating, let alone their trendy wear. i see nike sneakers in all sorts of neon colours that will never be imported to tokyo. matching fashion for dogs and owners too~ i got a few pairs of long long socks. you just cant get enough of sock obsession in japan. milk tea coloured hairdos and a whole lot of bling. and ayumi eyes just too much to look at. even my mom got caught up in the fashion and got herself a few apparels.

course there are a few things (regret regret) i didnt do and i wanna kick myself.
1. eat crepe. just one will do but Noooooooooo
2. i want a tiered mini skirt. i see too much of them in japan magazines and i gotta have one.
3. more clothes. i only got...one longshirt/dress kinda thing. and i bought it 5 minutes before we are shuttled back to the airport.
4. more candies. i am not supposed to eat any of the remaining now for fear i do not have sufficient for my friends.
