had graphic design history test on tues. it was funny. one question asked what was the name of the 2 uk brothers who pioneered object posters -aka minimalism- and i was like "OHHH THE POTATO PPL!!!!!" cause i distinctly remembered astrid flashing the poster of a single potato advertising -what else- potato. it was genius considering posters were often garish and over prettified during those times and these guys decided to just have a simple background and one object - potato, on it. and their name was super hilarious!!!!!!!! but for the life of me i couldnt remember their names so i was thinking something random like 'plastikins? (i hav no idea where i got that name from but it was somewhere in my head) but i eventually cancelled that answer. turns out the name was BEGGARSTAFFS (funny right? why didnt i remember?) but i really didnt know why i came up with plastikins... lol. overall i think i failed but astrid says she ll forgo one test out of the 4 she's giving. =p and Arts and Crafts movement started in England dear girl... not denmark (just because you thought it was a trick question cause William Morris sounded so english...) =p i love graphic design.
on the other hand joyce panned my typo work...only tension had nice reviews... sobs. and she didnt get mypositive and negative spacing damn damn damn. and the butterflies were so funnn!!!!! but she said i was only suposed to use one case of the letter so my butterflies will have to live without its feelers... showbz.
PPL GO WATCH 'SINGAPORE GAGA' its awesome i tell you. no relation at all to lady gaga. and i realise all good movie recommendations come from my uss lecturer... hahaha... check out 'Everything is Illuminated' as well!!! the guy...not matter what my classmates said abt his last yr...i find him a riot!
HELVETICA yes i finally watched it!!!!! most inspirational... now to burn it. the more i look at helvetica font the more i see it popping up everywhere... this is wrong. but i still love helvetica.
anyway i had dim sum for both lunch and dinner today - parents were free so i had meals with them. crystal jade for lunch, ding tai feng for dinner. =) i had alot of xiaolong baos. and yes i love free car rides to school. back AND forth. awesome i got to sleep knowing that i saved money today.
