typical plot includes:
The Girl
headstrong, smart female protagonist who thinks that she is fine on her own. guys are not just her thing, and she has alot more things to worry about, such as her economic crisis and the responsibilities that comes along with leadership. and of course there comes a few men that will change her life. not your average helpless pretty face, this one has spirit and the brains to boot.
The Catch
one good looking, very talented male protagonist who more or less wavers The Girl's thoughts. must be popular with other females, enough to make The Girl concern/jealous. probably with a hidden past which might involve family matters and social status, thus enveloping him with a mysteriously cool aura. dangerous, but we all know girls enjoy a little mystery and bad-boy image.
The Rival
another good looking male. this guy will be the total opposite of the male protagonist. in this case, The Catch has a cool character, so this will be the outgoing boy-next-door. never fails to express his concern for The Girl. try throwing in a childhood/past that includes The Girl that gives him the added advantage over The Catch. after all, that is all he can count on if the rest are second to The Catch.
And that is why i love watching
